BPBD: 8 Roads in Jakarta Flooded Due to Heavy Rain

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta Heavy rain that drenched Jakarta and its surrounding areas on Thursday, January 22, 2026, caused flooding in several areas. The Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded that as of 10:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, one neighborhood unit (RT) and eight roads were still submerged in water.

Mohamad Yohan, Head of the Disaster Data and Information Center at the Jakarta BPBD, stated that flooding occurred in one neighborhood unit (RT) in South Sukabumi Village, West Jakarta, with water levels reaching 40 centimeters. The flooding was caused by heavy rainfall since the morning.

"The heavy rain that hit Jakarta and its surrounding areas caused several floods," Yohan said on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

Meanwhile, the eight submerged roads were spread across North Jakarta, West Jakarta, and South Jakarta.

5. Srengseng Raya Street, Srengseng Village, West Jakarta — 20 centimeters
6. Daan Mogot Street, KM 13 (across from Victoria/Glass Factory), East Cengkareng Village, West Jakarta — 25 centimeters
7. Pesing Flyover, Kedaung Kali Angke Village, West Jakarta — 10 centimeters
8. Pulo Raya IV Street, RT 6 RW 1, Petogogan Village, South Jakarta — 10 centimeters

The Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) deployed personnel to monitor flooding conditions and coordinate with the Water Resources Agency, the Public Works Agency, and the Fire and Rescue Agency to drain water and ensure the channel is functioning normally.
