TEMPO.CO, Jakarta The Indonesian National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported that the death toll from the ecological disaster in Sumatra reached 1,201 as of Sunday morning, January 25, 2026. Of these, 562 people were in Aceh, 375 in North Sumatra, and 265 in West Sumatra.

"The three highest-death regions are North Aceh with 246 people, Agam with 194 people, and Central Tapanuli with 130 people," according to BNPB's Geoportal data on Sunday, January 25, 2026.

The number of missing people in the Sumatra disaster reached 142. This number decreased by one person compared to Thursday, January 22, 2026.

Meanwhile, the number of displaced persons is 113,900. The three regions with the largest number of evacuees are North Aceh (33,300), Gayo Lues (18,900), and Pidie Jaya (14,800).

The total number of damaged units is 170,050. Of these, 53,412 were severely damaged, 45,082 were moderately damaged, and 76,553 were lightly damaged.

So far, 215 health facilities and 4,456 school facilities have been damaged. Meanwhile, 803 houses of worship have been damaged, 810 bridges have been affected, and 2,164 roads have been affected.

On Thursday, January 22, 2026, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported 1,200 deaths due to the Sumatra disaster. The region with the highest number of fatalities was North Aceh, with 245. There are still 143 people listed as missing. This number is an increase of two people compared to Friday, January 16, 2026.
