TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Attorney General displayed Rp2.4 trillion in Rp100,000 denominations to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in the main building of the Attorney General's Office on Monday, October 20, 2025. The money is the result of the confiscation of funds related to corruption in the palm oil export applications by Permata Hijau Group, Wilmar Group, and Musim Mas Group.
"The total amount of the confiscation is Rp13.2 trillion, but it's not possible for us to present it all. If it's Rp13 trillion, it might not fit the place, so this is around Rp2.4 trillion," said Attorney General ST Burhanuddin.
The Attorney General handed over the confiscated money to Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa at the Attorney General's Office. The handover was witnessed by Prabowo.
Overall, the three corporations were supposed to pay a replacement fee of Rp17 trillion, but only Rp13 trillion has been confiscated by the Attorney General.
The remaining Rp4.4 trillion comes from the replacement fees of Musim Mas Group and Permata Hijau Group, which have not completed the handover. According to ST Burhanuddin, both corporations have requested a payment deferral. As a guarantee, the prosecutors have requested them to hand over their oil palm plantations and companies.
Previously, Wilmar Group, Permata Hijau Group, and Musim Mas Group were temporarily acquitted (ontslag van alle rechtsvervolging) by the judge of the Central Jakarta Corruption Court. However, the Supreme Court annulled the acquittal.
The three corporations still have to pay a replacement fee of Rp17 trillion. The breakdown is as follows: Wilmar amounting to Rp11.8 trillion, Musim Mas Group Rp4.89 trillion, and Permata Hijau Group Rp937.55 billion.
