TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto is celebrating his 74th birthday today, Friday, October 17, 2025.
Among those sending their greetings are his Chief of Staff Prasetyo Hadi, Special Envoy for Youth and Arts Workers Raffi Ahmad, former presidential candidate Anies Baswedan, and Forbes Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Steve Forbes.
Prasetyo Hadi shared his wishes via Instagram, @prasetyo_hadi28, praying for Prabowo’s continued health and strength in leading the nation.
"Happy birthday to President Prabowo Subianto. May you always be granted health, strength, and wisdom by Allah SWT in fulfilling the great responsibility of leading our nation. May every step of your struggle be made easy, every policy bring hope and smiles to the people, and every service pave the way toward the welfare and glory of Indonesia," he wrote.
Raffi Ahmad also extended birthday greetings through his Instagram account, @raffinagita1717, posting several photos of himself with the President.
"May this new year bring even greater strength in leading our nation, enthusiasm in serving, and steadfastness in realizing an Indonesia that is advanced, just, prosperous, and dignified," Raffi said.
Former 2024 presidential contender Anies Baswedan joined in the birthday tributes on his Instagram, @aniesbaswedan, praying for divine guidance and protection for the President.
"Happy birthday and long life, President @prabowo. In every great task, there are many people’s prayers: May Allah grant guidance, protection, and steadfastness in choosing what is right over what is easy, so that this nation can overcome various challenges. Aamiin yra," he wrote, alongside a photo of Prabowo.
Steve Forbes conveyed his birthday wishes earlier when Prabowo attended the peak session of the 2025 Forbes Global CEO Conference at Hotel St. Regis Jakarta on Wednesday night, October 15, 2025.
During the opening dialogue, Forbes highlighted the approaching first anniversary of Prabowo’s administration on October 20 and extended his birthday greetings.
"And on Friday, this Friday, we celebrate your birthday. And because I am older than you, I can say—you look young to me," Forbes said.
Prabowo Subianto was born in Jakarta on October 17, 1951, to Sumitro Djojohadikusumo, a renowned Indonesian economist, and Dora Sigar. He has a military background, having served as an officer in the Special Forces Command (Kopassus) of the Indonesian Army (TNI AD).
After retiring from the military in 1998, Prabowo founded his own political party, Gerindra.
