TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Heavy rain that has been pouring over Jakarta and its surrounding areas since Thursday, January 22, 2026, has caused flooding in several areas of the capital city. Jakarta's Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported that 78 neighborhood units (RT) and seven roads were still submerged as of Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 12.00 PM local time.
"The BPBD noted that there are currently 78 RTs and 7 roads submerged," said the Head of Data and Information Center for Disaster Management of BPBD Jakarta, Mohamad Yohan, in a written statement on Saturday.
As a result, there are 1,809 people who have been forced to evacuate to several locations. In West Jakarta, refugees from Kedaung Kali Angke Sub-district are located in Masjid Jami Al Khaeer, Masjid Jami Al Fudhollah, Masjid Muhajirin, Nusantara Early Childhood Education (PAUD Nusantara), sub-neighborhood unit (RW) 002 Post, Musala Nurul Ikhsan, totaling 257 individuals from 48 families.
Meanwhile, in Rawa Buaya Sub-district, the refugees are spread across Masjid Baitul Rahman and Masjid Hidayatussalam, totaling 186 individuals from 48 families. Jelambar Sub-district has 77 refugees from 20 families located in Musala At Taqwa and Masjid Nurul Islam.
The number of refugees in South Kedoya Sub-district amounts to 139 individuals located in Musala Al Hijrah, the sub-district office, and the RT 011 RW 005 hall. Then, South Kembangan Sub-district has evacuated 60 residents to Majlis Daarul Muhyi. North Kembangan Sub-district has accommodated 30 residents in Masjid Jami Al Ikhlas.
South Kota Bambu Sub-district has 65 refugees at the KS Tubun hall flat. Additionally, there are 173 refugees at Masjid Baitul Khoir, Duri Kosambi Sub-district.
The BPBD also reported that the evacuation points in Central Jakarta are located in Karet Tengsin Sub-district. A total of 256 individuals have been evacuated to Nusantara Early Childhood Education, the Muhajirin Mosque hall, the Integrated Public Child-Friendly Space in Segas and Intiland.
Flooding evacuation locations in East Jakarta include Cipinang Melayu Sub-district, which has 200 refugees at Al Muqorrobin Mosque; 209 refugees in Halim Perdana Kusuma Sub-district, and 60 individuals at Musala Al Islah in Cawang Sub-district. Meanwhile, in North Jakarta, 97 individuals from 25 families have sought refuge in the alley near Nurul Jannah Mosque, Kapuk Muara Sub-district.
BPBD Jakarta has deployed personnel to monitor the inundation conditions in each area. The public is advised to be cautious and alert to the potential flooding. "In emergencies, immediately contact the number 112. This service is free and operational 24/7," said Yohan.

4. In front of RS. Soeharto Heerdjan Jl. Prof. Dr. Latumenten No.1, RT.1/RW.4, Jelambar Sub-district, West Jakarta. Water height: 10 cm
5. Jl. Prepedan Raya, Kamal Sub-district, West Jakarta. Water height: 15 cm
6. BTN Housing Jl. Delima VIII, North Kembangan Sub-district, West Jakarta. Water height: 20 cm
7. Jl. Pulo Indah, Duri Kosambi Sub-district, West Jakarta. Water height: 20 cm

1. Jl. Kapuk Bongkaran RT.022 RW 012, Kapuk Sub-district, West Jakarta
2. Jl. Taman Kota, Kedaung Kali Angke Sub-district, West Jakarta
