Prabowo Directs Affordable Market Event in Jakarta

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has instructed his staff to organize an affordable market event for the people of Jakarta. The event, which includes a bazaar, lucky draws, and public entertainment, is being held at the National Monument (Monas) area today, Saturday, March 28, 2026.

"Still in the spirit of Eid al-Fitr, on the instructions of President Prabowo, this afternoon at the National Monument (Monas) courtyard, the Presidential Palace will once again welcome the residents," said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya via the @sekretariat.kabinet Instagram account.

Teddy stated that the affordable market event is intended for the residents of the capital city, both those who did not return to their hometowns and those who have returned to Jakarta after the Eid holiday.

Teddy recounted that President Prabowo's directive to hold this event stemmed from the enthusiasm of the people during last week's Eid celebration at the Presidential Palace. "The President wants as many people as possible to share the joy of Eid in a warm and communal atmosphere," he said.

Teddy mentioned that the Presidential Palace has prepared 100,000 vouchers for free shopping for goods and groceries worth Rp500,000. Additionally, 800 street micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) prepared 300,000 free meal portions.

According to Teddy, this affordable market features vendors from Tanah Abang Market, Senen Market, and other markets in Jakarta.

Furthermore, the event has arranged various prizes through a lucky draw or door prize system. The prizes include 1,000 bicycles and 100 electric motorcycles.

Teddy also mentioned that the event provides a stage for entertainment featuring musical performances by Wali and Bagindas. Additionally, there are various games for children.

According to the information shared by the Cabinet Secretariat, the affordable market event will take place from 4:00 to 9:00 PM local time.
