TEMPO.CO, Semarang - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI cancels seven long-distance train trips from Semarang to Jakarta for the departure on August 2, 2025, after the Argo Bromo Anggrek train derailed at the Peganden Baru Station emplacement, Subang Regency, West Java.
"KAI still cancels the trips of several trains for the Saturday departure that pass through the northern region of Central Java," said Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daoo 4 Semarang, Franoto Wibowo, in Semarang on Saturday.
According to him, the accident experienced by the Argo Bromo Anggrek train at the Peganden Baru Station, Subang Regency, West Java, on Friday, August 1, 2025, has a significant impact on the delay of train trips.
Franoto stated that the seven long-distance trains whose trips were canceled are the Argo Muria train with the route Jakarta-Semarang, Menoreh train with the route Semarang-Jakarta, Jayabaya train with the route Malang-Semarang-Jakarta, Gumarang train with the route Surabaya-Semarang-Jakarta, Argo Anjasmoro train with the route Surabaya-Semarang-Jakarta, Tawangjaya train with the route Semarang-Jakarta, and Kertajaya train with the route Jakarta-Semarang-Surabaya.
Additionally, KAI canceled two Banyubiru train trips between Semarang and Solo.
PT KAI offers refunds to prospective passengers who canceled their trip due to the cancellation. "The ticket refund process can be done within seven days, starting from the departure date," said Franoto.
Due to the derailment of the Argo Bromo Anggrek train, the trips of several trains from and to various stations in Daop 4 Semarang were disrupted. As one of the mitigation steps, KAI implemented a detour operation through the southern route for several trains.
