TEMPO.CO, Jakarta Heavy rain has caused flooding in a number of areas in Jakarta. The Disaster Management Agency of Jakarta (BPBD Jakarta) recorded that 17 neighborhood units were affected by the flooding.

The administrative city that was most affected is East Jakarta. Head of BPBD Jakarta, Isnawa Adji, stated that 17 neighborhood units from four sub-districts in the eastern part of Jakarta were flooded, based on data as of 10:00 AM.

Bidara Cina and Cawang sub-districts each had five neighborhood units affected by the morning rain flooding. "The flooding in Bidara Cina reached a height of 80 to 100 centimeters, while Cawang sub-district experienced 80 centimeters of flooding," he said in a written statement on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

Kampung Melayu sub-district was also affected, with four neighborhood units still submerged in water at a height of 125 centimeters. The same goes for 3 neighborhood units in Cililitan sub-district, which experienced flooding at a height of 30 to 40 centimeters.

"The flooding in East Jakarta is caused by the overflow of the Ciliwung River," said Isnawa.

Meanwhile, two neighborhood units in Pejaten Timur sub-district, South Jakarta, have reported receding water levels. Previously, this area also experienced flooding at a height of 40 centimeters. The cause was the overflow of the Ciliwung River due to heavy rain in Jakarta.

Isnawa stated that his team has been monitoring the flooding in every area of Jakarta, including carrying out water pumping. "The target is for the flooding to recede quickly," he said.
