GOOTO.COM, Jakarta - BYD Motor Indonesia has recorded sales of 8,200 units throughout the first quarter of 2025. This figure represents the sales volume for the BYD and Denza brands, capturing a 50 percent market share of electric vehicles in Indonesia.
"This achievement serves as an encouragement for us to continue contributing as a supporter of electric vehicle growth in Indonesia," said Head of Public and Government Relations at PT BYD Motor Indonesia, Luther Panjaitan.
In the first quarter of this year, electric vehicle sales in Indonesia have shown a positive trend amidst the sluggish national automotive market.
Based on data from the Indonesian Association of Automotive Manufacturers (Gaikindo), the national electric vehicle growth in the first three months of this year has increased to 8 percent. This figure represents a growth from the previous year, which was recorded at 5 percent.
The growth in BYD's electric car sales in the country is inseparable from the contribution of several electric car models that they have marketed in Indonesia, including Atto 3, Seal, Dolphin, M6, and the latest addition, Sealion 7.
BYD Indonesia has also expanded its after-sales network to facilitate its customers throughout Indonesia, by establishing a total of 50 dealerships spread across 27 cities nationwide.
This network expansion aims to be closer to consumers in various regions and provide easier access to BYD and Denza products and services.
