Prabowo Holds Meeting in Hambalang After Overseas Visit

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has summoned several of his cabinet members to Hambalang, Bogor, West Java. Prabowo held a limited meeting with the ministers and the Chief of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) at his private residence.

According to the Cabinet Secretary, Teddy Indra Wijaya, the meeting took place after President Prabowo returned from his foreign visit. "Upon his return from the foreign visit, President Prabowo wanted to check the progress of several strategic programs with the relevant officials," said Teddy in a written statement on Sunday night, January 25, 2026.

Teddy mentioned that the meeting lasted for half a day last Sunday. The meeting took place from noon until evening and was attended by at least six ministers. Teddy conveyed that the president had received reports on the latest developments of several strategic projects during the meeting. One of the topics was the progress of developing the Red and White Village Cooperative, presented by Coordinating Minister for the Economy Zulkifli Hasan.

In addition, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia also reported on the condition of the oil and gas energy sector. Prabowo also received presentations regarding higher education cooperation in the engineering and mining fields from the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto. "Furthermore, the developments in the banking sector were reported by the Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa," said Teddy.

President Prabowo received firsthand reports from the Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and the Chief of the TNI, General Agus Subiyanto, as well as the Vice Chief of TNI, General Tandyo Budi Revita. The President also received a report from the Attorney General, Sanitiar Burhanuddin, regarding the regulation of national forest areas.

In addition to the aforementioned individuals, the meeting in Hambalang was also attended by the Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) Muhammad Herindra and the State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi. "This meeting reflects President Prabowo's responsive, measured leadership, and orientation towards tangible execution, as well as ensuring the continuity of the national development agenda amidst global dynamics," said Teddy, who was also present at the meeting.

The meeting at Prabowo's residence took place one day after the President's return from his visit to England, Switzerland, and France. Prabowo arrived in Indonesia on Saturday evening, January 24, 2026, after his visit.
