KAI: Train Tickets for Eid al-Fitr Now Available for Purchase

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) announced that train tickets for the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday period can be purchased starting Sunday, January 25, 2026. Purchases can be made through several official KAI channels, including Access by KAI, booking.kai.id, the 121 call center, and through official sales partners partnering with KAI.

Tickets for this Eid homecoming period can be purchased no later than 45 days before departure. "Purchases are advised to avoid purchasing train tickets through parties offering services with unreasonable additional fees," KAI wrote via its official Instagram account @kai121_ on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

KAI announced that tickets for the Eid homecoming trip (mudik) purchased on January 25, 2026, will depart on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Departures before Eid, or D-1 on Friday, March 20, 2026, can be booked on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

Furthermore, departures during the return flow period on Saturday, March 21, 2026, can be booked on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. The latest reservation for departures on D+10, or Wednesday, April 1, 2026, can be booked on February 15, 2026.

For departures from Jakarta, KAI provides 37,758 seats for long-distance trains departing from Pasar Senen Station and Gambir Station, Jakarta. Franoto Wibowo, Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Operations Region 1 Jakarta, stated that management will operate 34 regular trains departing from Pasar Senen Station per day with a total capacity of 20,719 seats.

Furthermore, 35 trains depart from Gambir Station per day with a total capacity of 17,039 seats. "These are only regular passenger trains (not including additional Eid al-Fitr trains)," Franoto said, as quoted by Antara on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
