TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) will charge a special Rp1 fare on the first and second days of Eid al-Fitr, following a decree issued by the Jakarta Transportation Agency. The same promotional fare will also apply to the Jabodebek LRT service.

The policy is based on Decree No. e-0056/2026 issued by the head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency.

Rendy Primartantyo, Corporate Secretary Division Head of MRT Jakarta, said all stations would continue operating normally during the holiday period, with additional personnel deployed at stations and on trains.

“Customers are advised to maintain order and cleanliness in station areas and inside the trains, and to always follow staff instructions,” Rendy said in a written statement on Thursday, March 19, 2026.

MRT Jakarta said services will operate until 01:00 AM on the eve of takbiran, the traditional night before Eid marked by chants praising God. All 13 stations will remain open under the extended schedule, with 219 train trips operated using seven train sets.

From March 18 to 24, 2026, MRT Jakarta will run daily from 05:00 AM to midnight, with trains departing at 10-minute intervals.

During the Eid holiday, MRT Jakarta will also offer a series of public programs, including educational tours in collaboration with the Jakarta Experience Board, point-of-interest (POI) promotions through the MyMRTJ application, and various activities in station areas.

“Further information can be obtained through MRT Jakarta’s official social media channels,” Rendy added.

During last year’s Eid holiday period, MRT Jakarta recorded 614,767 passengers between March 28 and April 7, 2025. On the two days of Eid al-Fitr alone — March 31 and April 1, 2025 — the system served 76,106 passengers, including 28,930 on the first day and 47,176 on the second.
