Indonesian Ambassador Presents Letters of Credence to Finnish President

TEMPO.CO, JakartaIndonesian Ambassador Ibnu Wahyutomo presented the Letters of Credence to the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, at the Finnish Presidential Palace in Helsinki on Thursday, August 28, 2025.

The Deputy Chief of State Protocol of Finland invited Ambassador Ibnu Wahyutomo into the palace after he paid his respects to the presidential guard. Then, Ibnu climbed the stairs to the Yellow Room and presented his credentials to the president of Finland.

At the moment, Ambassador Ibnu Wahyutomo conveyed warm greetings from President Prabowo Subiyanto and the Indonesian people to President Alexander Stubb and the Finns. President Stubb warmly accepted the greetings and welcomed Ambassador Wahyutomo to Helsinki as Indonesia’s official representative.

Ambassador Ibnu took the opportunity to highlight the positive and mutually beneficial developments in the bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Finland across various sectors.

In response, President Stubb expressed appreciation to those involved for maintaining good relations between the two countries. The president then gave a brief presentation on Finland's role in international forums and its desire to collaborate with major Asian countries, such as Indonesia, in economic, trade, and peace initiatives.

The handover of credentials by Ambassador Ibnu Wahyutomo went smoothly and cordially. On the same day, the President of Finland received the Indonesian Ambassador, and the Ambassadors of Belgium, Colombia, Cuba, Portugal, and Ukraine.

Ambassador Ibnu Wahyutomo then hosted a reception at the Ambassador's Residence, inviting the ambassadors of ASEAN and MIKTA member countries. During the reception, Ambassador Ibnu announced that he had presented his credentials to the President of Finland, officially assuming his duties as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Indonesia to Finland.
