BPBD: All Floodwaters in Jakarta Receded as of Monday Morning

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported that all flooding and inundation in the capital had receded as of Monday, January 26, 2026.

According to Mohamad Yohan, Head of the Data and Information Center for the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), heavy rain that hit the capital on Thursday night caused flooding in several areas. However, the water had receded, according to BPBD monitoring at 3:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB) this morning.

"BPBD recorded that as of 3:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB), all inundation in the Jakarta area had receded," Yohan said in a written statement on Monday, January 26, 2026.

Yohan stated that the BPBD had collaborated with relevant regional government agencies (OPDs), such as the Water Resources Agency, the Gulkarmat Agency, the Bina Marga Agency, the Environmental Agency, the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), the Village Public Infrastructure and Facilities Management Unit, and the general public.

Yohan stated that all these agencies had deployed personnel and supporting equipment to ensure the floodwaters receded quickly. "Equipment such as mobile pumps have been deployed to drain the floodwaters and ensure that the water channels are functioning properly," he said.

Although the water has receded, the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) urges the public to remain vigilant for potential flooding. They are asked to always monitor the latest information and conditions on the various information channels operated by the Jakarta BPBD. In an emergency, the public can call 112, which operates 24/7.
