TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that light rain will fall in most areas of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) starting this afternoon. Just like yesterday, when protests took place in several parts of the capital, rain is expected to fall several times.
According to the BMKG's weather forecast, a thick overcast is expected in some parts of Jakarta and the Thousand Islands since this morning. There is a potential for light rain in West Jakarta and South Jakarta from 4:00 PM local time. East Jakarta is likely to receive rain from midday, as well as North Jakarta. The light rain may persist until 7:00 PM local time, and even after.
The air temperature in Jakarta may become hot in the afternoon and evening, ranging from 24 to 33 degrees Celsius. Specifically for Jabodetabek, the temperature in Jakarta is higher than in Bogor Regency, which ranges from 18 to 32 degrees Celsius. The temperature in satellite cities of Jakarta, such as Depok and Bekasi, is also higher, around 21 to 33 degrees Celsius.
The BMKG predicts that light rain accompanied by thunder is expected to fall in Bogor Regency from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM local time. The conditions in Bogor City are similar, although the potential for thunderstorms is less.
Depok City is also likely to experience light rain starting at around 4:00 PM local time and continuing into the night. Bekasi Regency and Bekasi City are expected to be showered by rain starting at 1:00 PM local time. Even though it may ease as the sun sets, rain is still likely to fall at night, and even until 10:00 PM local time.
In the Jabodetabek area that enters Banten, there is a potential for light rain in Tangerang Regency, Tangerang City, and South Tangerang City in the afternoon. The temperature in these three areas ranges from 23 to 31 degrees Celsius.
